Format [back
to top]
3D means there are 3 divisions in the class.
This is a fair way to allow competitors of all skill levels
to compete together and have a chance to take home some of
the prize money. The first division winner is the rider that
posts the fastest time of the class. The second division winner
is the posted time that's 1 second back from the 1st division
winner. Likewise the third division winner is 2 full seconds
back from the first division winning time. There are usually
3 placings within each division. If there is a large number
of entries, a 4D format will be used. The 4D format is very
similar to the 3D format except it includes one more division
. In the 4D format, the second division winner is a half second
back from the fastest first division time, the third division
winner is a full second back from the fastest first division
time and the fourth division winner is two seconds back from
the fastest first division time.
